reading 101

One week in the New School - this is how Alexander should feel about now.

Can:
- "analyse" and "synthize" some syllables (seriously - the system through which they teach children is remarkably multifaceted, creative and thought-through. Not to mention the enthousiasm and dynamism that I witnessed with the teachers and school staff -  I deliberatly moved Alexander to this school and it was the right choice to make)
- read already three words ("ik", "maan", "roos")
- count backwards from 6 -> 0
- do my homework properly in the afterhours child care
- eat and enjoy an occasional warm meal provided by the school at lunch
- cross autonomously the schoolyard to my honk through the crowd of noisier, older and taller kids.
- make mom and dad proud as hell

Cannot (yet):
- remember to bring my towels from the first swimming class
- remember not to throw around my backpack so that some of the freshly received triangular pencils provided by the school to write propely - are broken.
- swim like Michael Phelps and read the stock market like Nassim Nicholas Taleb.
