Brainiac

Today I read some conference proceedings on analytics, and realized how far off the mark I am of what I want to achieve with the team - a bunch of experienced, critical, highly assertive, no-nonsense and hardworking individuals.. Behold their leader : a voluntarist, an idea-tripper, an empirical do-first-think-later scientist.

But there is so much going on in the company (and I am far from up to speed with the essentials), that I essentially spend all my energy trying to grasp what's going on, while trying to create some vague notion of order, team spirit and continuity within my entity. The latter not easy if you consider that there is yet another personnel switch upcoming (the fourth in a year time..), and more underway.

The challenge: to manage them through the change of today, relate with them, and get us to the next level of analytical professionalism. No brainiac's job, but a manager's.

That's all for today's incoherent chatter (just caught myself reviewing the text above for structural clarity, and stopped myself right in time "naaah- just a blog").
