Today I managed to have a fairly productive team meeting. Although my little gremlins had again some nasty questions for my in the presence of my boss, I managed to handle them reasonably - and above all - I managed to stay Zen, not to get upset or take it personal, but to take it as it is, and learn from it. Learn that I have to share more information with them, learn that I need to interconnect my team, and learn to push on the issues that need to be pushed.
People are a paradox though : when you give autonomy, they crave for direction ; when you command, they crave for autonomy and freedom. Still need to learn to play that piano.
Finally, today was also Obama's state of the Union. Seeing his voluntarism, energy, humor and openness (he started with stating his optimism !), I event felt inspired. It was stated that 'maybe he tries to please everyone a bit too much' -- point taken.
