buzzing times

Entering the last week before a week in the Alps. "The holiday period has become business-as-usual" I hear on a regular basis and I can second that. My agenda is buzzing. I am involved in three activities:

1. assist in overseeing an externally-led project to set up a market research study,
2. design two processes of the new Marketing operating model and
3. come up with some ballpark estimates on how to reduce IT costs using an alternative architecture.

Each one of these are, in fact, huge learning opportunities and I would like more time to look at each of them more thoroughly. On the other hand, I shouldn't forget to spend enough time with my people.

On top of this I will enjoy a training program in September to understand the various lines of business. The program totaling three weeks is geared at newcomers (even if they exceed 30), and constitutes of a sequence of presentations complemented with a group assignment. I am thinking on how to possibly integrate one of the above activities in the assignment, or how to choose an assignement issued by the more interesting parts of the business :-). Funny is also that I might be actually teaching one of the classes.

In short, interesting times, I need to order extra external memory.
