Opportunities in the void

I tend to enjoy work last week. Although I don't know yet my new (direct) boss and the whole organisation is in transition phase for at least the next three months, the vacuum creates opportunities...

The transition phase is guided by a Accenture manager with a McKinzie background - a good lad I can well relate to. He provides me with some upward visibility by throwing some todo's at me, and coaches me in several aspects. Getting shit done feels good. And the word goes that I can bring some creativity to the table.

I spent more time with my future director in the last week than I spent over the past 6 months with my old boss - that says it all I guess.

Also, I was in a meeting today with another consultancy firm was eager to sell us a project. I wasn't that enthousiastic. But being a line manager with a consultancy background is fun. However, you can't hide from you are it seems as I was quickly 'recognized' :-).

In short, I am looking forward to be part of the strategic marketing dept. Remains to be seen who will be my direct boss, and how the team will adapt to this new reality. At least I try to maximally involve them, and integrate their concerns.
