Vendors and consultants are starting to find their way to my desk phone. Recently I even got called from India - an outsourcing company looking opportunities to host some of analysis services. There were 'passing through'.
I knew that the meeting would be pointless considering budgets are being scrutinized by the big chiefs above - not to mention the 'danger/high voltage' aura that surrounds the outsourcing/offshoring business within our company.
Yet I decided to see them, and to my surprise I had an enjoyable meeting with a Scandinavian/Indian duo packed with realistic expectations and a strong story. The meeting basically confirmed my previous analysis on the urging need for a more global Information Mgmt strategy. Dream on Pat..
Apparently the surprise element was mutual, as I was labeled 'the consultant in disguise' - LOL - even un-tied and wearing brown trousers you apparently can't hide...
